Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers spacious rooms with a lovely king size bed for adults and bunk beds for kids, though lacking storage space. Service was a mix of rigid and pleasant, with a friendly evening receptionist. The location is priceless, with stunning views of the mountains and lake, perfect for exploring. Dining was underwhelming with limited options, while the backside cafe offered ace choices. Overall, a lovely and clean hotel with a few drawbacks.
My stay at the hotel came with mixed feelings. The room, although clean and tidy with a spacious bathroom, fell short of expectations due to the view of the parking lot instead of the promised lake view. The temperature inside was almost freezing and had a musty smell. On the bright side, the service was a contrasting experience, with a mix of unhelpful instances but also encounters with friendly and efficient staff. The location, although ideal for exploring Hellvelyn, was marred by disappointing parking and dining options. The dining experience ranged from delicious to disappointing, with a diverse menu but subpar quality on some items.
My stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. The rooms were nice but come at a higher cost; however, the service was friendly, and the location is excellent despite some drawbacks in the dining experience. Overall, it was a decent stay considering the price.
The hotel is ideally located by lovely Ullswater, making it convenient for walking, water sports, and enjoying the lakeside. However, due to the poor customer service and cleanliness standards, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made. The Beckside Bar is rather basic and unattractive, affecting the overall experience negatively.
